38 degrees. That was the heat during much of my recent #meditation retreat in France — sweat pooling as I sat, the body protesting, the mind restless. And yet, as the days unfolded, I felt something I hadn't expected in this fast-spinning world: gratitude. Gratitude simply for the chance to sit still.

I arrived carrying momentum. I'd recently joined a research project on #AI-native org design, and the past weeks had felt like diving into a swirl of new endeavours — new knowledge, new contacts, new conversations arriving daily. Observing myself, I noticed my mind locked in an exciting "outward" mode. Reaching. Absorbing. Accelerating.

But underneath, a quieter awareness: I also need inner power. #Presence. #Tranquility. The #stillness from which sound judgement actually arises.

#AI has amplified everything. This age asks far more of our judgement than any before it — using our own taste and discernment to direct autonomous agents toward what matters. The demand on our inner strength has intensified. And so has the risk: faster depletion of the very energy that steadies us.

This is why silence helps. What transcended the physical challenge, for me, wasn't discipline — it was the #awareness, #compassion, and #wisdom guiding the retreat.

Zoom out, and these qualities reveal themselves as gems for modern society. They remind us we are interdependent beings — that #systems #thinking is not a technique but a felt truth. In an age of simultaneous disruptions, environmental, geopolitical, societal, all amplified by technology, we need more conscious judgement. More #conscious #leadership.

The invitation here is simple. As we awaken silicon, may we also awaken ourselves.

I sincerely wish more people find their way to this awareness, compassion, and wisdom.

Here's a glimpse of the retreat — and the long-awaited rain that finally came after the heat. 🌧️
